Muhammad is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Proudest Blue: A Story of Hijab and Family, a powerful and vibrantly illustrated story about a young girl’s first day wearing hijab to school. The acclaimed book has received numerous awards and been translated into several languages. She continued the series with The Kindest Red: A Story of Hijab and Friendship in 2023, followed by its final installment, The Boldest White: A Story of Hijab and Community, in 2024. Muhammad is also the author of the 2018 memoir PROUD: My Fight for an Unlikely American Dream, which chronicles her journey of perseverance, identity, and breaking barriers.
